The online language courses it provides are based on CERF levels and well-trusted by academic institutions. One of its best features is its emphasis on collaborative learning and access to a whole community where users can communicate with native speakers in their target language.

Memrise is a great app for learning English where you can pick up new vocabulary. Word of the Day

This English vocabulary app works well for busy people who wish to increase their vocabulary by learning a new word every day. The app is better suited to more advanced learners as the words it introduces can be quite difficult.

Word Snack

Word Snack is a fun app for gaining new vocabulary. It is basically a game where you have to guess the words based on letters given to you. The first few levels are extremely easy but they progress to more difficult words quickly, so much so that you’ll be learning a lot of new vocabulary.

VoLT vocabulary

VoLT helps students prepare for various tests including the SAT, TOEFL and IELTS by introducing them to advanced vocabulary. Each new word is accompanied by a picture, its antonyms and also a small bit of information helping you remember it better (usually something funny).

Vocabulary Builder Magoosh

Magoosh Vocabulary Builder helps you prepare for the GRE or GMAT tests (which are sometimes necessary for entrance into graduate programmes). Even if you’re not studying for those tests, it can still be a useful way to learn new vocabulary. You can choose between basic, intermediate and advanced levels and match a new word to its synonym.

Learn English Vocabulary

This app is perfect for visual learners as it helps you learn and retain your new vocabulary through the use of pictures. You can also review the words you’ve already learned through flashcards and quizzes.
